Photo Art Friday – Light

Bonnie gave us the challenge to feature light in our image. This is a photograph of tulips that I was using to practice some lighting features on to emphasise form, nature had a surprise for me with the light display in the background. I played with exposure, clarity, black levels in Lightroom and added “Golden Bokeh” to brighten up the RHS.

Tutorial Tuesday -Pop Art

This week’s tutorial is to take an image and convert it to Pop Art. I have used a photograph of Henk and used three colour backgrounds. I initially desaturated the image, then cut and paste him into a transparent background, played with Adjustment levels, and Artistic/cutout filter, and applied colour to face, hair and clothes on separate layers, flattened image, selected and pasted into another layer and added a background layer.  I finished by applying Adjustment Levels/Hue and Saturation to get the other colours (the middle image is the original).

Photo Art Friday – Fence

Bonnie gave us the challenge to use a fence or fences in our art work this week. I took this photograph in mid February on the way back from Stanthorpe, Queensland. I have used pdpa Drips of Degas at Blending Mode Hard Light 100% opacity, popped it in to Topaz Lab Black and White filter and used the Toned collection.

Photo Art Friday – A Choice or Architectural

Bonnie is allowing us to post something that we like, well she gave us a new texture pdpa Mauve Threads, so I just had to play. I took two  photographs that I took on my river cruise, the first is inside the dinning room and the second is of antique dolls from a visit to an amazing memorabilia center (the frog bath was from there as well). I used Bonnie’s tips on painting and applied the new texture.

The second photograph was taken today while I was down town, it is an iron structure in which bougainvillea will be trained to grow up, this shot is looking up, I applied the texture Drips of Degas at hard light.

The structures.
